Birthday party balloons...

I made an assortment of six cards for each of two neighbors, and this is one of the cards I included in each set. The balloon frame was cut with a die. Then I cut each balloon out of a different colored glossy cardstock.

The "birthday wishes" sentiment was a glossy sticker.

Every other balloon was popped up with foam squares to add some dimension.

I wish the photo showed the glossy shine of the balloons. I think it adds a lot to the look of the card.

Liners, like this one with a pop-out mechanism, are super easy to make. To see a video tutorial on the process, click here.

The balloons were each adhered to narrow strips of acetate and those were adhered to the pop-out piece. I had to test them a couple of times before gluing them down to make sure they didn't stick out of the card when it was closed. The sentiment was stamped, die-cut and adhered to the front of the pop-out.

Finally, I added a blue border from my stash because the liner was so plain.

This card was really fun to make and surprisingly easy. If you've never made a pop-out before, I hope you'll give this a try. You could pop-out almost any image. You just have to make sure that it doesn't stick out of the card when it is closed. And there would be plenty of room for a sentiment on the liner itself, if you prefer to put one there.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and remember to laugh--a little or a lot--every day.
