Baby cards featuring aqua hearts...

I have quite a few aqua scalloped hearts; some smaller, deep pink hearts; and some mama kangaroos in my stash. They are all leftovers from someone's card kit. They ended up at the thrift store where I volunteer, and the store gave them to me to use on the cards I make for them.

Here are three baby cards where I used some of those supplies:

I used three of the hearts for this card, brushing their edges with a little aqua ink. I also inked the edges of my panel of plaid DSP.

After cutting a slit to create a marsupium, or pocket, for a joey, I slipped a small, pink heart into the slit and glued it in place.

Mama kangaroo has been popped up with dimensionals on the center one of three hearts that were glued across the card front.

The stamped and die-cut sentiment was also popped up.

I added a strip of DSP, which was inked on both long sides, on the inside. I also glued a couple of teensy dimensional hearts on either side of the word "baby" in the stamped sentiment. They had been a very light pink, so I colored them with an alcohol marker to better match the pink heart on the front.

This card features just two aqua hearts and another popped-up kangaroo with a heart in her marsupium.

The stamped sentiment at the top was also popped up.

On the inside of this card, I stamped a sentiment and two baby footprints. I also glued another pink heart above the sentiment.

To make this card, I first added a leftover piece of plaid DSP to some pale yellow, embossed cardstock. To give the sides of the DSP a finished look, I added thin strips of pink cardstock. This panel was then glued to the front of an A2 card base.

The single aqua heart was glued onto the card front so that it was centered on the right hand pink strip. Then I added a die-cut duckling, popping its wing up with a little piece of foam tape.

The stamped sentiment was also popped up.

I stamped a sentiment on the inside and added one more little duckling.

I loved making these baby cards. It is so much fun to come up with sweet ideas for welcoming new babies.

Baby cards always sell quickly at the thrift store, so I definitely need to keep making them.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and remember to laugh--a little or a lot--every day.

These are adorable baby cards. Great use of those leftovers. I don't think I have ever seen a kangaroo on a card. It is adorable especially with the heart in the pocket. That plaid DSP is versitle for boy or girl.
