Hats off to you on your birthday...

For these two cards, I pulled out my birthday hat die set and a matstack that had some papers with metallic gold designs.

I started with a pre-made green cardbase that had been embossed with a wood design.

Then, I cut two hats out of two of the patterns in the matstack. I also cut the pompoms and frilly borders from some gold metallic cardstock.

The sentiment was stamped, die-cut and popped up with foam tape.

The left hat was glued directly to the cardbase and the hat on the right was popped up with foam tape.

I added some green Nuvo Drops to the centers of the pompoms and each frill of the border.

I had a couple of leftover strips of the metallic gold cardstock, so I added them on the inside to the left of the stamped sentiment.

This card features a similar cardbase, only in orange. Since it was an A2 topfold cardbase, I turned it on its side and added a scoreline to create a book fold card.

I cut a polka dot piece from the same matstack I used for the hats and glued it to the "binding" part of the card. Before gluing the "binding" together, I tied some gold twine around the front section.

The sentiment was popped up, as was the hat, and Nuvo Drops were once again used as embellishment.

The inside of this card was pretty simple with only a stamped sentiment.

I like this party hat die set a lot, but the hats could certainly be created without dies. It would just take a little measuring and imagination!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and remember to laugh--a little or a lot--every day.

Cheryl
