The original design used only a few pieces of confetti, but I decided to cut out extras of each shape and add them to my card.
Rather than writing a personal note and signing the back, I adhered the entire shutter mechanism to a 5" X 7" card base, which made the card sturdier and easier to operate.
Here's a short video showing you how it works:
I used my computer to print a sentiment on the inside of my card.
Today was such a beautiful day here in Minnesota. With the sun shining in a brilliant blue sky and the temperature reaching into the 70s, what do you think I was doing? Making Christmas cards! I have now made 60 Christmas cards, so I only need about 25 more of them. This is definitely the earliest I have had that many ready for the holidays.
I also sewed a couple of face masks today--one for my aunt and one for my cousin--and popped them in the mail. I was glad my cousin let me know they needed them, as I have plenty of fabric and other sewing supplies that I am happy to share.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and remember to laugh--a little or a lot--every day.

Interactive cards are always fun. Your bright balloons are so festive. I don't know--I seem to be having trouble going day-to-day. Can't even think about Christmas cards. I did purchase a Christmas card kit so I have that much started.
Oh, that is really cool, Cheryl - very awesome! I'll have to check that out. I did make the other type of shutter card that you have showed previously. I gave it away before I had to take pictures, though. This reminds me to try to get it back for photos! Yes, it was gorgeous yesterday. It was a nice day for a drive. We headed north (well, northwest) for my uncle's funeral. We only went to the service, which was at the cemetery, so no contact. That was really weird being at a funeral and not able to give anyone a hug. :(
That is a really wonderful birthday card! I've never seen one quite like that!
Well done! What an awesome, fun, and cheerful card! Great job!
Oh how cool - I have not seen one like this either, but what a great interactive card. I like the additional confetti.
I just made Dear GD her graduation card - we were going to go to the graduation in South Bend IN. but no graduation, so we are going to wait until later this summer to go visit.
Christmas cards - did you say Christmas cards, you are WAY AHEAD.
