Pretty little boxes...

In addition to making cards for the thrift store (where I volunteer) to sell, I also make little boxes. The boxes are sold in the jewelry department, so if a customer finds a piece of jewelry they want to give as a gift, they can also purchase a box for a minimal amount to put it in.

Not long ago I purchased an unbranded die online to make a pretty little box for jewelry purchases.

The above picture shows the die I purchased. Looks a little complicated, doesn't it? It really is quite simple to put together. You cut two pieces, adhere them together via the tabs and , voila!

The pink box shows what it looks like when you add the little rectangles of coordinating paper to the sides. I didn't want to cover up the pretty floral paper on the other box so I skipped that step for it.

Here's what they look like from the top.

And another shot from a little different angle.

Aren't they sweet little boxes? The store had no trouble selling them, and now I need to make a bunch more.

Oh, yes, the papers on both boxes are from Stampin' Up. Love their coordinating two-sided paper!

I'm sure you're tired of reading my nasty "weather reports" here on the blog, but I just have to whine a little to get it off my chest. We're getting FOUR more inches of snow today. I had to drive over to St. Paul for a doctor's appointment and what should have taken me 15 minutes, took 45. The trip home was even worse, taking more than an hour. I drove past a school bus (with children onboard) that had been in a fender bender with a van. Of course, there are accidents all over the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area because of the slick roads. Winter, I am SO over you! Go away!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and remember to laugh--a little or a lot--every day (even when it's snowing!).

Those are SO cool, Cheryl!! I haven't seen any boxes like that. I do have a couple box dies from QuicKutz that I should use.

Yeah, I'm about ready for winter to be done, too. I don't envy you your drive. I just stayed put:) Sounds like now we're in for some more cold.

These are adorable. So great to have a die to cut them out--no measuring and scoring. They make great little gift boxes. I can't even imagine how it is with all the snow you have had. Spring is only 17 days away. Now we just hope Mother Nature gets the message.

Darling boxes, and yes love SU papers - they work so well in just about any creation. The thrift shop is sure lucky to have you on board.
I wish whining about the weather would make it better but it doesn't. Has been a LONG winter here in southern MO. as well. Got up this am to temps of 6. Ready for spring.
