More coloring on kraft...

Remember this post where I used kraft card stock to make a wedding card? Well, I also decided to use the same kraft card stock and stamp to make a birthday card.

I stamped my image (by Stampendous) at the top of my card, this time, rather than the bottom. Once again I used Versamark ink and heat-embossed with white embossing powder.

This image seems to lend itself nicely to this embossing/coloring technique. I think it's a pretty old stamp (I got it second hand), so I'm not sure if it is still available.

My image was colored with ProMarkers, using a couple different shades of each color to add some depth.

The "Happy Birthday!" is a Fiskars stamp, and it was also heat-embossed.

At the bottom of my card I added a ribbon, secured with a brad, and some texture with a Darice border embossing folder.

I finished the inside of my card with a sentiment stamp by Woodware.

Our weather has turned gorgeous again. I'm trying to appreciate every minute of it, because I know the cold and snow is not that far off. We've been known to have blizzards in October in Minnesota. In fact, in 1991 there was a terrible blizzard on Halloween night. Here are a couple of images, which I found online, that show the results of that storm:

I do hope the weather is gorgeous wherever you are and that you don't have to deal with any blizzards this year.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and remember to laugh--a little or a lot--ever day.

Very nice - love the kraft - I just never think to color directly on the kraft cs. Talk about trick or treat - surely it was a trick. We have had chilly Halloweens but never snow,.

I so love the look of flowers colored on kraft and yet I always forget to do it myself on my cards! Slap! This is a work of art, Cheryl! The ribbon treatment and the bottom embossing are icing on the cake and even the inside is perfection! I have to say blizzards like this make me so glad I don't live in Iowa any more! Enjoy that beautiful summer and fall as long as you can!! Hugs, Darnell

Gorgeous card Cheryl, love the red and white against the kraft bg.
Wow, that was a lot of snow ... we tend to come to a standstill here in Ireland if there's more than a couple of inches, and our weathermen go into excitement meltdown LOL ;)

Pretty coloring on the Kraft paper. My local stamp store does a class on this, and the gal that teaches it does awesome coloring, even kids faces. I like the look, and never ever think to try it, but know you have inspired me. Beautiful card inside and out, Cheryl.

Your weather is like ours, you just never know............They say here, if you don't like the weather, just give it a minute it will change.
