I've been in school...

Silhouette School, that is. I've been reading tutorials every day and practicing on my new Cameo. What a fabulous machine! And I've barely scratched the surface of what it can do.

I thought I'd share my very first cut with you today. It was one of the designs that came with the Silhouette Studio software. I didn't have to do anything to the image, other than size it to my liking

Isn't this a cute little treat bag? After having only a basic Cricut, I am LOVING the Silhouette with its 12" mat and incredible design capability.

I heat embossed the sentiment on both the front and back. I also added the little ribbon bow to both sides.

The glittery little heart in the lower right corner was cut out as part of the design. I added a circle of pink cardstock on the inside with a piece of double-sided adhesive. Then I burnished some glitter into the adhesive on the front side

Along with the little heart cut-outs from the lower right corners (front and back), some larger hearts were cut out to create the handles. I couldn't just throw these heart shapes away, so I created two Valentines that look like this:

My little cupid was heat embossed and my corner die-cuts are by Cheery Lynn. I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and inked the edges to add a little dimension to my heart. I also inked around the edge of my gray and white CS to make it look more finished against the white card blank

I used the small heart cut-out to help dress up the inside of my card.

These cards will probably go to my elderly aunts and uncles. They always seem to appreciate the cards I send them.

I also used my Silhouette to make a child's Valentine, but I'll share that one in another post.

We are bracing here for some sub-zero weather that is supposed to move in tonight. Brrrrr. I am NOT looking forward to it!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and remember to laugh--a little or a lot--every day
Cheryl
