I used my "Norm" stamp from Ai, but I just had to dress him up a bit:
I colored Norm with my ProMarkers and free-handed some ground for him to sit on and some sprigs of grass around his chair.
He has a bit of a pout going on, but I think he's just putting on a show. He really is a lovable guy who doesn't mind some special attention on his birthday. He just doesn't want you to know that he's actually enjoying himself!
You can tell he's fun-loving by the clothes he chose to wear on his birthday. He picked out his wildest shirt and his brightest shorts. He would have worn purple socks, too, if only he had some. Maybe someone will give him a pair as a birthday gift.
My DH really is young at heart, but he has the usual aches and pains for someone who just turned 73. That doesn't keep him from riding his bike 12 miles to work and playing outside with the grandkids. He's a wonderful life partner, and I'm a lucky woman to have him in my life!
I like to tease my DH about being older than me and "robbing the cradle" when we married. ha ha
I am entering this card into the Art Impressions Challenge #140 "Big Birthdays" All Birthday Cards. I hope they enjoy seeing my card as much as I enjoyed making it.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and remember to laugh--a little or a lot--every day (even if it's at your DH!).
