I saw a card similar to this somewhere online and tucked the idea away, thinking I had to give it a try. When I made two small card sets for my neighbors, I decided to include a card with this design.
I selected a circle die and used it to cut away a portion of a 4" X 5 1/4" panel of textured white cardstock. That created a partial circle aperture which I backed with turquoise cardstock.
I thought about embossing the white panel with the Swiss Dots EF, but since it was already textured, I decided against that.
I die-cut five layered daisies with yellow centers, and glued them along the edge of the circle.
I also die-cut "Happy Birthday" and glued that onto the turquoise cardstock. You could also stamp Happy Birthday if you wish.
I stamped a sentiment on the inside and the card was done.
This is such a simple card design, but I like the fresh look of it. I think there are other images you could use around the edge of the circle. For instance, you could put butterflies around the edge and use different colors of cardstock behind the aperture.
I think I have a small ice cream cone die, and I could place several of those die-cuts around the edge.
For a masculine card, you could use some gear die-cuts. So many possibilites!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and remember to laugh--a little or a lot--every day.

Pretty card with its fresh summer look. I love seeing gardens full of daisies. Thanks for the inspiration for all the other designs too. I'm going to file this away to use.
